CAD Usage Assessment
PacifiCAD can visit your
facility and assess how effectively your organization is using its CAD tools.
During the assessment, we
interview key people in your company to gain an understanding of how your
organization functions and how your design team fits into its workflows. We
look at how data moves into, through, and out of your CAD department for ways
to streamline and automate those processes. We look at how your technical staff
uses its CAD applications to see if we can find ways to enhance their
proficiency with those tools. We also look at your servers and workstations to
make sure they’re optimally configured to do the jobs you’ve asked them to
perform.
When we’ve completed our
study, we present you with a detailed written report of our findings, which
includes specific recommendations of steps you can take to improve the
efficiency of your CAD department and streamline its interactions with clients,
subcontractors, and other departments.
Standards Implementation
Through a combination of user interface customization, template
customization, and perhaps a bit of custom programming, PacifiCAD can go a long
way towards building your organization’s drawing standards into your CAD
application(s). The benefits of doing
this can be enormous. You’ll be able to get your design and drafting work done faster
because tasks such as managing layers and setting entity properties will be
handled automatically. You’ll also see significant time savings as a result of
your drawings will being constructed in a far more consistent fashion. This is
because the time users currently spend trying to understand how drawings they received
from coworkers are put together will be eliminated. Also, standardization is
the key that unlocks the door to automation, making batch processing of files
